Edward D. "Rick" Wiskusky, Jr., 61, of Magnolia, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, in Aultman Hospital, Canton, following a sudden illness.
Born, May 23, 1947, in Massillon, he was a son of the late Edward D. Sr. and Phyllis Barnes Wiskusky. Rick graduated from Washington High School, Massillon, and was employed by Ecko Housewares, and later, by the Manatee County, Florida. He was currently a soldier with the Salvation Army.
Rick loved the Lord and loved ministry. He belonged to the Salvation Army Men's Club and was a bell ringer, who was looking forward to the coming holiday season. He also belonged to the East Ohio Emmanuel Emmaus and KAIROS working with the Ohio Trumbull Correctional Institution. Additionally, Rick was a fan of the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State. He enjoyed going fishing and bowling, and working with his computer.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Sumney Wiskusky, whom he married Dec. 31, 2005; a daughter, Julie Wiskusky of Memphis, TN; a brother, David Allen Wiskusky of Magnolia; an aunt, Betty Dusz of Senecaville; and his two dogs, Samantha Sue and Cassie Lynn.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert Wiskusky.
A funeral service celebrating Rick's life will be held Friday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m., in the Salvation Army Citadel, Public Square, Dover, with Captains George and Jennifer Bates officiating. Immediately following the service, there will be a meal in the Citadel. Burial will be Friday at 1:30 p.m., in Sunset Hills Burial Park, Canton.
