Edward H. Fritz

Edward H. Fritz, 76, of Dover, Ohio died peacefully Monday evening, March 23, 2009 surrounded by his family.

He was a retired employee of Greer Steel Company in Dover where he worked for forty four years.

Born June 30, 1932 in Dover, he was the son of the late William R. and LaVette (Stauffer) Fritz. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, William D. and Daniel J. Fritz and two sisters, Christine Gotshall and Betty Francis.

Ed was a 1949 graduate of Dover High School. He had a passion for photography and astronomy and built his own telescope.

He is survived by his wife, Elveda "Squitz" Fazenbaker Fritz with whom he celebrated fifty seven years of marriage on January 19; He is also survived by his daughter, Joan (husband, Don) Whitemyer of Dover; two sons, William (wife, Paula) Fritz and Michael (wife, Brenda) Fritz both of Dover; nine grandchildren, Miranda and Josh Kaser, Tim Whitemyer, Capt. William Fritz, Jessica Fritz, Jennifer Heckathorn, Jena Fritz, Julie Fritz, and Jamie Hillyer. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service celebrating Ed's life will be held Monday, March 30, 2009 at 1:30pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating. Burial will be at Dover Burial Park with a reception to follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4pm.
