Edward Lee Rabes

Edward Lee Rabes, 66, of Dover passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia.

Born on August 15, 1956, in Dover, he was the son of the late Billy E. and Sara (Milliken) Rabes. He was also preceded in death by his beloved K-9 companions, Smokey and Jasmine.

He was a graduate of Dover High School with the class of 1974. He retired from the Local Labor Union 132 following many years of work.

Edward loved Bigfoot and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

He leaves behind his wife, Kelly (Kirkpatrick) Rabes, who he married on December 1, 2008. He will also be sadly missed by his daughter; Jessica Rabes (Chad Blackwell); two step-sons, Nicolas (Allie) Jones of Bolivar, and Tyler (Sam) Jones of Palm Harbor, Florida; two bonus daughters, Jennifer Lezotte and Jamie Nelson; his grandchildren, Sara Wauthier (Keton Galigher), Ashlyn Wauthier (Damion Rowe), Kamron Horne, Kamden Horne, Sloane Jones, Gage Jones, Addison Jones; his brothers, Michael (Chris) Rabes, James (Carol) Rabes, Dean (Tharin) Rabes, Brian (Janet) Rabes, along with several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory of Dover on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 10:30-11:30. Pastor Dotty Hartzell will officiate a service at 11:30 am on Saturday. A meal will follow at the Dover Eagles.
