Edward W. Weaver, 74, of Dover, Ohio died Tuesday, January 30, 2007 in Aultman Hospital at Canton following complications from cancer surgery.
Born September 6, 1932 in Dover, Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert and Armilla Maybaugh Weaver. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sally Weaver and a son, Dan Weaver.
Ed was a union carpenter for over fifty years. He had also previously been employed at the former Midway Lumber Company in Dover.
He was a member of St. Joseph�(TM)s Catholic Church in Dover, Dover Elks lodge, F.O.P.A., Life member of the Zoar Gun Club, Life Member of the North American Hunting Club, Life member of the NRA, Golden Sheaf member of the Brandywine Grange. He was a graduate of St. Joseph�(TM)s High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Dover American Legion and its former Drum & Bugle Corp. and the 40 et 8. Eddie loved spending time with family and friends and was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Ed is survived by his wife, Joanne McGovern Weaver with whom he would have celebrated fifty years of marriage this May 11; one daughter, Sara (Rich) O�(TM)Donnell of Dover and a son, William (Jacquie) Weaver of Vancouver, Washington; six grandchildren, Valerie Weaver, Katie, Cody, and Chelsea Weaver, Ryan and Brandon O�(TM)Donnell; two sisters, Mary Edith (Jim) Obermiller of Somerdale, Ruth (Jerry) Graef of Dover; two brothers, Joe (Dolores) Weaver of Dover and Sam (Jean) Weaver of Roswell along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service celebrating Ed�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, February 3. 2007 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Fr. William Arnold and Pastor Jeff Mathews officiating. Interment will be in the St. Pauls Ruslin Hills Cemetery at Dover where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8pm.
