Edwin J. Lewis

Edwin J. Lewis, 86, of Beach City died Friday, June 28, 2002 at Union Hospital following a brief illness.

He retired in 1980 from Eckert Ford in Sugarcreek and had also worked at Potschner Ford in Dover.

Born August 6, 1915 in Dundee he was a son of the late James and Carrie Plough Lewis.

He was a member of Indian Meadows Church of God and served on the Board of Trustees, Building Committee, Sunday School Superintendent and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. He also enjoyed going to the Hospice Breakfast.

Edwin was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Lewis who died on August 27, 1998.

He is survived by his daughter: Dalene (Floyd) Swinderman of New Philadlephia

Son: Kenneth (Dixie) Lewis of Massillon

Three grandchildren: Ron (Jennifer) Lewis
John (Angie) Swinderman
Letticia (Jason) Wright

Two great grandchildren: Jordan Eberhardt and Tristin Wright

He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter: Keri Eberhardt

Sister: Verda Elliott

Brother: Algie Lewis

Services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2002 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Pastor Bill Mallernee officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. Friends can call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 pm.
