Edyth I. McCaslin, 84, of Dover passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at her home following an extended illness.
Born September 22, 1935 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Clyde Wilson and Clara Mae Ralph Yackey. Edyth was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. McCaslin on February 24, 1994; daughter, Jana McCarthy; sisters, Elizabeth Yackey and Dalene Domer; brother, Clyde Yackey.
She retired as an RN in 1998 from Union Hospital after 25 years of service, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Dover. Always one to stay busy, Edyth loved crocheting Afghans for her family, and later in life, she would color pictures. She also enjoyed sitting on her large front porch, just watching the world go by.
Edyth is survived by her children, Christy McCaslin, Robert (Rhonda) McCaslin both of Dover, Daniel (Mary) McCaslin of Hilliard; grandchildren, Tabbitha, Jason, Chelsea, Alisha, Markie, Robert “Bo”, Sarah, Caitlin, Sean, Jace, and Sheila; great grandchildren, Colton, Jana, Madi,and Ozden; sister, Edna (Gary) Smith of Strasburg.
Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. There are no services or calling hours. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Edyth may do so by visiting the online obituaries link on the funeral home’s website.
