Eleanor Leona Potts

Eleanor Leona (Dunmire) Potts, age 88, of Hennis Care Center in Dover, OH quietly passed away Nov. 18th, 2012 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.

She was born in North Apollo, PA. on Dec. 28th, 1923 and was the daughter of the late George and Susan Dunmire. She was preceded in death by her husband John William Potts, daughter Cheryl Jane Pappas, step-children, Kathleen Dearth, Charles Potts, Bernelda Kerr and Carol Osborne, sisters Esther Purney, Tony & Velma Cardaro and brother Harold Dunmire.

Eleanor is survived by her loving children, Gregory Potts of Alliance, OH, Mrs. John (Debbie) Herbert of New Philadelphia, OH, Mrs. Ted (Karen) Dulkoski of Jewett, OH, and Mr. David (Bev) Potts of New Philadelphia, OH. She is also survived by a sister Hallie Riggle and brothers Donnie and Wayne Dunmire. Step children, Betty Becklin, Vernabell Habian and Jimmy Potts. Grandchildren Shannon Mast, Johnny Herbert, Kerri Culp, Andrew Potts and Ben Potts. Great-grandchildren, Haley, Jeordon, Chelsea, Ivy, Cameron, Raine, Ian, Mason, Drayvan and Aiden. Great-great grandchild Alainah.

Eleanor was loved by everyone she met. She was employed by Atwood Lodge, Rolling Y Ranch and Holiday Inn. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and watching old Broadway musicals. She also liked antiques and sewing.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 21st at 2:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover with Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 20th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. She will be laid to rest at Leavittsville Cemetery. Dinner will follow the burial and be held in Leavittsville UMC.
