Elenora E. "Nick" Mcnutt

Elenora E. “Nick” McNutt, age 86, of Mineral City, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, in Community Hospice’s Truman House, New Philadelphia.

Born Oct. 17, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Margaret Grove Kendle. Nick graduated from Bolivar High School in 1949, and on Aug. 26 of that same year married Evangel “Vern” McNutt. The couple reared three children and shared nearly thirty-three years of marriage before Vern’s untimely passing at the age of 56 in 1982. Nick was a loving homemaker who worked long hours on the family dairy farm. She was a faithful member of Bethel Chapel, Dover, serving as song leader, Sunday school teacher and superintendent. Nick helped with the Cub Scouts when her children were little. Additionally, she enjoyed traveling with her family.

Survivors include her children, Sharon S. and Terry L. McNutt, both of Mineral City, and Michael L. (Florence Ann) McNutt of Uhrichsville; her grandchildren, Tracy (Rusty) Miller, Tonya (Tony) Walker and Hallie (Jason) Baker; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; her aunt, Loretta Grove; her sisters-in-law, Dolly Kendle, Mertie Lucas and Sheri Forbes; and her nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, Vern, Nick was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Monday, Oct. 8, 5 - 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home; Pastor Kevin Anslow will officiate. Burial will be in German Cemetery, Mineral City. Following the committal there will be a lunch in the Uhrichsville Foursquare Church.
