Elenore M. Low, 92, of 1893 Saltwell Rd. N.W., Dover, Ohio died Thursday, June 12, 2003 in the Park Village Health Care Center.
She was a schoolteacher for 25 years having taught at Tusky Valley High School until her retirement in 1972.
Born July 5, 1910 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Klar Weinsz.
She was a member of the St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ at Dover where she served on the History Committee for the 150th anniversary of the church. She was a Life member of the Dover Historical Society where she also previously served as Trustee and Honorary Trustee. She was a member of the Tuscarawas County Retired Teachers Assn. and served on the committee that published the History of Tuscarawas County Schools. She was a member of the former Clionian Club and enjoyed traveling, music, and researching local history. Elenore was a 1928 graduate of Dover High School and graduate of Kent State University.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond C. “Sucker” Low with whom she would have celebrated 66 years of marriage on Dec. 29. She is also survived by two daughters; Margery (Jim) Grimm of Gainesville, Florida and Betty (Jim) Wherley of Dover; five grandchildren Karel (Joe) Reed and Deborah (Alan) Houtzer both of South Carolina; Brenda Wherley of Dover, Michael (Dana) Wherley of Green, Ohio and Beth (Shane) Sexton of New Philadelphia; eleven great grandchildren Sarah, Helen and Kevin Reed, Sophia, James and Michael Houtzer Joshua and Jacob Wherley and Drew, Ian, and Blake Sexton.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Walter G. Weinsz.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Steve Daniels officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 6-9 pm.
