Elizabeth Marie Stein

Elizabeth Marie “Libby” Stein, 58, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, Jul. 11, 2003, in her home, following a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born Feb. 9, 1945, in Kansas City, MO, she was a daughter of Lewis R. and Viola Fairbee Robin of New Philadelphia. Libby attended Strasburg High School, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Ray Stein, whom she married Nov. 16, 1974; five daughters, Connie Engstrom of New Philadelphia, Kandie Harris of LaCroffe, VA, and Eva Hicks of Brandon, FL, Debbie (John) Jackson of Dover, and Robin (Tom) Covington of Phoenix, AZ; three sons, Kenneth Hicks of Tampa, FL, and Steve (Lori) Hicks of Midvale, Rick (Kelly) Stein of New Philadelphia; seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Shirley (Dean) Ady of Nagadoches, TX, Barbara McAfee of New Philadelphia, Linda Miller of Waco, TX, and Connie (Joe) Patterson of Rock Hill, SC; six brothers, Donnie (Virginia) Robin of Nagadoches, Ronnie, Lonnie (Linda), Kenneth (Kathy), and Gary (Holly) Robin, all of New Philadelphia, and Roger (Carlie) Robin of Uhrichsville; many nieces and nephews.

Libby was preceded in death by a son, Richard Hicks, and a granddaughter.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July15, at 11 a.m. in Renner�(TM)s St. Paul United Church of Christ, Baltic, with Rev. Sharon Jacobsen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be a meal in the church following the committal. Visitation will be Monday, July 14th, 2003, 2 �" 4 and 7 �" 9 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, New Philadelphia.
