Elizabeth “Betty” Nylund Hothem, 80, of Stone Creek, died Thursday, May 17, 2007, in the Arbors of Canton, following a lengthy illness.
Born, July 13, 1926, in Staten Island, NY, she was the oldest of four children of the late Sigurd and Catherine Davidson Nylund. Betty worked many years as the secretary-bookkeeper of Central Auto Electric in New Philadelphia. She was an avid reader and a cat lover.
Survivors include two sons, David (wife, Rebecca) Nylund of Stone Creek, and James (wife, Michelle) Hothem of New Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Jared (wife, Chantell) Nylund, Gina Nylund and B.J. Hothem.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 19, at 12 noon, in St. Joseph Church, Dover, with Fr. William L. Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dover. Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Friday (today), 7 �" 9 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
