Ellen E. Moore Neff

Ellen E. Moore Neff, 88, of First Community Village, Columbus, and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2002.

Born Sept. 30, 1913, in Neffs, OH, she was a daughter of the late George E. and Martha St. John Adams. At the age of six, Ellen moved with her family to Tuscarawas County. She attended Midvale High School, and married Benjamin Moore in 1933. Benjamin died in 1963. In 1968, Ellen married David A. Neff; David died in 1980.

She retired from the Snyder/Zimmer Manufacturing Co., New Philadelphia, in 1978, following twenty-two years of service. Ellen was a member of Holmes United Methodist Church, the Ladies of the Moose and the Lady Eagles, all of New Philadelphia. Additionally, she was a member of the Midvale VFW Auxiliary, and the Hilliard Senior Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Geneva (Bill) Kinneer of Columbus; a son, Dean (Marlene) Moore of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Michael Kinneer of Springfield, OH, John (Mary) Kinneer of Concord, NC, Patricia (Timothy Rath) Kinneer of Durham, NC, James (Kathy) Moore, and David and Steven Moore, all of Florida; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Daniel Kinneer of Concord, and Marielle Kinneer Rath of Durham; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Besides her parents, her first husband, Benjamin, and her second husband, David, she was preceded in death by an infant son; three sisters and four brothers.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, at 10:30 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with Rev, James Chalfant officiating. (The Dover location of the service is because of renovations currently underway at Toland-Herzig�(TM)s New Philadelphia facility.) Burial will be alongside her husband, Benjamin, in Holmes Church Cemetery, New Philadelphia. Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, 6-8 p.m., in the funeral home.
