Elmer E. "Buck" Kennedy, 90, of Dover, Ohio died Sunday, January 11, 2009 in the New Dawn Retirement Community at Dover following a brief illness.
Buck was a longtime self employed Iron Worker and House mover.
Born January 15, 1918 in New Philadelphia, Ohio, he was the son of the late Elmer O. and Myrtle (Belle) Kennedy.
He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church at Dover. He was also a Mason and member of the Tuscarawas F&AM #59 at Dover and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army for many years. He was a US Navy Veteran. Buck enjoyed woodworking and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Marguerite Zaugg Kennedy who died April 7, 2006 along with two brothers, Bob & John Kennedy and two sisters, Mildred Levengood and Mary Curl.
Elmer is survived by three sons William Kennedy and Richard "Rick" (wife, Kimberle) Kennedy both of Tucson, Arizona and David (wife, Vicki) Kennedy of Highland Heights, Ohio. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held Thursday (his birthday) at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia.
A public masonic service will be held Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 1pm in the East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
