Elsie B. Sommers

Elsie B. Sommers, 82, of Dover (Winfield), Ohio died Friday, August 31, 2001 in the Morning View Care Center following a brief illness.

Born March 3, 1919 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Jonas and Agnes Gordon Wallick.

Elsie was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Winfield and the Dorcas Circle. She was also a member of the Dover Eagles Auxiliary and enjoyed crafts, sewing, and working crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Sommers who died December 9, 2000.

She is survived by two daughters and sons in law
Doris and John Maurer of Dover and Judy and Dale Penrod of Bolivar.

One sister Audrey (Richard) Ferry of Dover along with six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and another great grandchild expected this month.

She was preceded in death by one infant son, one son, Darrell Sommers, one brother, Jay Wallick and two halfsisters, Ethel Helmsdoerfer and Mary Barnhart.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2001 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Pastor John R. Long officiating. Interment will be in the Bunker Hill Cemetery at Winfield. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-9 pm.
