Elsie M. Jennings, 94, a longtime Dover resident, died Sunday, November 12, 2006 in Park Village Health Care Center.
Born December 10, 1911 in Guernsey County, she was the daughter of thelate John & Mary Etta Van Fossen Wayble.
She retired from Union Hospital after more than 18 years of service as a Nurse�(TM)s Aide.
Elsie was a member of Dover�(TM)s Grace Lutheran Church where she had been active in the Mary Baer Circle. She was a family-oriented wife and mother who loved taking care of the home and took pride in raising her children. She had enjoyed sewing, and in fact, had made much of her children�(TM)s clothing when they were young.
Her husband, William R. Jennings, Sr., preceded her in death, on November 22, 1981.
Surviving family include: five daughters, Betty (Roy) McConnell of Dover, Grace Beller of Dover, Carolyn (Tom) Price of Shiloh, NC, Bea Ann Hyust of Canton, and Judith (Carl) Schneider of Canton; two sons, William R.
(Wendy) Jennings, Jr. of Savannah, GA, and Robert (Sue) Jennings of Brandon, FL; a sister, Helen Maurer of Dover and brother, Lewis Wayble of
Londonderry, Ohio, as well as 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, three brothers and three sisters preceded Elsie in death.
A funeral service that celebrates Elsie�(TM)s life will be held Wednesday, November 15, at 11:30 a.m. in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover with Pastor Jim Lewis and Dr. William C. Haggis officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Following the burial, a meal will be served in the church social hall. Friends may call in the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to services.
