Emanuel D. "Biff" Hershberger, 77, of Dover died Saturday, January 9, 2010 in the Hennis Care Centre.
He had retired in 1994 from Union Hospital as the Director of Environmental Services after 42 years of service. Biff also enjoyed electronics and worked part time at WJER.
Born October 18, 1932 in Holmes County, he was a son of the late Daniel and Katie Ann Beachy Hershberger. Biff was also preceded in death by a sister, Emma Kramer and brothers, Roy and Jonas Hershberger.
He was a member of Dover Baptist Temple and in his spare time loved to go fishing at Atwood Lake.
Biff is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Fannie Troyer Hershberger, whom he married on August 24, 1960. He is also survived by his sons, Douglas (wife, Rita) Hershberger of New Philadelphia and Daryl (wife, Sherri) Hershberger of Sugarcreek; daughters, Debbie (husband, Mike) Cinereski of Alabama and Glenda (husband, Craig) Bambeck of Dover; brothers, Simon Hershberger of Pennsylvania, Henry (wife, Ruth) Hershberger of Walnut Creek and Daniel Hershberger of Sugarcreek and 12 grandchildren, Jared (wife, Tracy), Rebekah and Andrew Cinereski, Elizabeth (husband, Joel) Bishop, Syrena, Roman, Chandler and Emanuel Hershberger, Megan and Justin Hersberger, and Corey and Dylan Bambeck.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Dover Baptist Temple with Pastor Christopher Rhodes officiating. Calling hours will be held at the church on Tuesday from 5-8 pm. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover are handling arrangements.
