Emery Lynn Kinsey, age 70, of New Philadelphia, passed away Thursday, December
17, 2020, in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital, Dover.
Born July 21, 1950, in Dover, he was a son of the late Emery E. and Mary K.
Zimmerman Kinsey Jr. Emery graduated from New Philadelphia High School and went
on to attend the Columbus Culinary Institute. He loved to cook, and was employed by
the L-K Restaurant, Arby’s and the Zoar Hotel. Emery was a member of the Loyal Order
of Moose, Uhrichsville, and often worked fundraisers for police, firefighters and
veterans. Some of his favorite pastimes were travel – which included cruises, fine
dining, and, of course, cooking for family and friends.
He will be dearly missed by his long-time companion, Dee Ritenour; his siblings,
Kenneth, Ronald (Barb), Leslie (Ruth), Conrad and Kathy Kinsey, and Cynthia (Ray)
Wise; his many nieces and nephews, including Alysia Carrick, Chasity (Jack)
Buckohr, Gabrielle, Emilee and Katelinn Kinsey; and his good friend, John Cahill.
Emery did not like a fuss, and, honoring his wishes, he will be buried privately with his
parents, in New Philadelphia’s Evergreen Burial Park. To sign an online guestbook and
share a fond memory of Emery, please visit the Obituaries link on the Toland-Herzig
