Emma Belle Gillaspie

Emma Belle Gillaspie, 89, of the Hennis Care Centre and formerly of E. 6th St., Dover died Friday morning, July 1, 2011 in the centre following an extended illness.

She was born June 10, 1922 in Warwood, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Carl and Verda (Cehrs) Mack.

She was a member of the Dover Church of Christ. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Emma Belle enjoyed making dolls, sewing, and crafts. She and her late husband, Dale enjoyed traveling the country in their camper.

She is survived by three children Larry (Barbara) Gillaspie of Dover, James (Elizabeth) Gillaspie of Louisville, Kentucky and Lyn (James) Cunningham of LaVerne, California; seven grandchildren Brenda, Susan, Brent, Alan, Kathy, Tina, and Kristy and seventeen great grandchildren and a brother, Paul Mack of Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Charles "Dale" Gillaspie who died August 3, 2008 and a brother, Carl Mack.

A funeral service celebrating Emma Belle's life will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Randy Chapman officiating. A reception will follow in the Dover Church of Christ. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Dale on Tuesday at 3pm in the Holly Memorial Gardens at Colerain, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10-11am.
