Emma Louise Keplinger

Emma “Louise” Keplinger, 83, of New Philadelphia passed away at Akron General Hospital on Monday, December 11, 2023 following a very sudden illness.  

Born on May 14, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Luthy and Doris (Krebs) Darbee.  

Louise was a 1958 graduate of Dover High School.  On August 8, 1959, she married Tim Keplinger.  

For over 10 years, she worked as a bookkeeper for Wallick’s Auctions.  

Louise was an active member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dover where she was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She loved working jigsaw puzzles and bird watching.  She could spend hours watching the camera footage of the bluebirds building nests and caring for their young in her backyard bird houses.

In addition to her husband, Tim, she leaves behind her daughters; Tracey (Kenneth) Myers of Massillon, and Beth (Clint) LeMasters of New Philadelphia; her son, Tab (Sarah) Keplinger of Dover; grandchildren, Josh (Heather) Zaugg, Nick (Kelie) Zaugg, Krista (Matthew) Nutter, Jeremy Murch (Jessica Heath), Grace Keplinger, and Emily (Andrew) Keiser, Courtney (Allen) Welsch, and Josh (Tara) Myers; eleven great-grandchildren;  along with her sisters, Lois Walle of Florida, and Linda Bertle of Dover.

In honoring her wishes, cremation has been entrusted with the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover.  There will be no services or calling hours. To sign an online guestbook, visit the obituary link on the funeral home’s website.
