Emmett Jean Glazer

Emmett Jean Glazer, 88, who resided in both Ohio and Florida, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, in Fairfield, Ohio.

Born Mar. 14, 1917, in Port Washington, he was a son of the late Henry and Rosa Dichler Glazer. Emmett earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Ohio University, and went on to attain his Master's Degree, also in Chemistry, from the University of Akron. He was a chemist for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber
Co. for some thirty-eight years, before retiring in 1977.

Emmett was a member of Star Lodge No. 187 F. & A.M. of Cuyahoga Falls, the Lighter Than Air Society and the Power Squadron, both of Akron.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley, Jean and Evelyn; three sons, James,
Charles and Phillip; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Emmett was preceded in death by his first wife, and the mother of his children, Virginia May Miller Glazer, in 1978; his second
wife, Mary Louise Conquest Glazer; and by a brother, Andy Glazer.

Emmett's life will be celebrated in a service Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 12 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 246 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Port Washington. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. To sign an
