Emmy Grossniklaus

Emmy Grossniklaus, 84, of the Hennis Care Centre and formerly of Crater Ave., Dover, Ohio died Friday, January 14, 2000 in the centre following an extended illness. Emmy retired in 1985, as a waitress at the Union Country Club in Dover where she worked for 17 years. Born January 20, 1915 in Switzerland, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Eliese Enz Vogler. She came to the United States in 1958 and had previously resided in Chicago, Illinois. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover, the Secular Franciscans and the United Swiss of Canton. Emmy was preceded in death by her husband Hans F. Grossniklaus who died in 1964. She is survived by one stepdaughter, Jeanette Horrisberger of Plain City, Ohio, a stepson Donald Grossniklaus of Wooster and a stepdaughter in law, Kathy Grossniklaus of Wilmot. She is also surived by four stepgrandchildren Rick Grossniklaus of Wooster, Ozzie Grossniklaus, Bonnie Kandel, and Connie Devol all of Wilmot and numerous step greatgrandchildren and her special friends Ruth and Rocco Polce of Dover. She was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, two sisters, and two brothers. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 22, 2000 at 10:30 AM in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park.
