Enid M. Henry Wallace, age 98, of a long-time resident of Harrison County, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, in Community Hospice Truman House.
Born July 30, 1925, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Carroll and Blanche Coventry Keller. Enid graduated from Dover High School in 1943, and went on to work in manufacturing in Canton as part of the war effort. On March 27, 1946, she married Jack Henry. Foremost, Enid was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and a devoted homemaker. She was a hard-working farm wife who assisted with the family business, Henry’s Meat Market in Cadiz. Enid was a member of the Church of New Hope in Dover, and the Community Grange in Harrison County. She very much enjoyed being with her family - as well as camping adventures.
Jack Henry passed away on August 9, 1985, and Enid later married Clarence “Toady” Wallace of Hopedale, former Green Township Trustee and Hopedale Fire Chief; Toady passed away on October 24, 2008.
Enid is survived by her children, Carol (Don) Fogle of Hopedale, George (Hazel Witherspoon) Henry of Lisbon, William (Mary) Henry of New Philadelphia, John (Rebecca) Henry of Mineral City, and JoAnn (Harold) Baker of Dover; her grandchildren, Kelly (Brian) Snyder, Michael (Christina) Fogle, Donnie (Jamie) Fogle, Matt Henry, Amie (Ray) Runyon, James (Shawn) Henry, Joseph (Crissy Henry) Henry, Erin (Paul) Guber, Jessica (Casey Hanlon) Baker, Lisa (Brad) Smith and Tom Baker; her 20 great-grandchildren; her 11 great-great-grandchildren; her step-daughter, Mary “Dolly” (Lewis) Tipton; her step-grandchildren; her step-great-grandchildren; her step-great-great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, her first husband, Jack, and her second husband, Toady, Enid was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Brad Allen and Tricia Lynn Henry and a very young infant; her daughter-in-law, Shirley Henry; her step-daughter, Joye McBride; and her brothers, Russ, Ralph and Fred Keller.
Family and friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Monday, August 14, 5 - 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 15, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home; Pastor Dan Legg will officiate. Directly after the service, there will be a lunch in the Church of New Hope. Burial will be later, following cremation, in Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale.
