Erma Mae Zehnder

Erma Mae Zehnder, 85, of Strasburg passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012.

Born in Baltic, on September 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Nellie Snyder Reidenbach. On September 12, 1946 she married the late Delbert Dale Zehnder, who preceded her in death on June 19, 1998. She is also preceded in death by three brothers; Robert, Dean and Glenn Reidenbach; and a sister, Mary Baker.

Erma was an active member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church. She retired from Strasburg High School, where she was a cook for many years. Erma enjoyed all sports, but especially loved watching the Ohio teams. One of her favorite pastimes was baking for her friends and family.

She will be sadly missed by her children; Lynn (Phoebe) Zehnder of Strasburg, Randy (Carolyn) Zehnder of Strasburg, Marty Zehnder of Strasburg, and Tanya Jo (Ron) Gritzan of Strasburg; two brothers, Kenneth Reidenbach of Baltic, Paul Reidenbach of Newark; three sisters, Norma Meyer of Navarre, Carol Ann (Dean) Burrell of Strasburg, Cherolene Huntington of Coshocton; along with five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Erma's life will take place at the Strasburg United Methodist Church on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Lynda Masters officiating. Interment will take place at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served in the church social hall. Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 5-8 pm.
