Erma Marinelli

Erma Marinelli, 86, of New Philadelphia passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 following a period of declining health at the Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia surrounded by her loving family.


Born on November 11, 1927 in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Regina Frohnapfel McKerrihan. She is also preceded in death by three sisters; Martha McKerrihan, Gladys McKerrihan, Wilma Francis; three brothers, Edward, Charles and Earl McKerrihan.


On March 5, 2014 she celebrated 65 years of marriage to her husband, Robert "Bob" Marinelli. She worked at Belmont Company, until her first child was born and then became a full-time housewife and Mother as her family continued to grow. Erma has always been an avid flower gardener and has received many compliments every year for her perfect landscaping. She was also a talented cook and baker.


She will be sadly missed by her husband, Bob; three children; Robin (Richard) Buterbaugh of New Philadelphia, Barbara (John) Sandy of Dover, Gary (Jackie) Marinelli of Dover; four grandchildren, Angela Calkins of Bolivar, Katie Farnsworth of Dover, Matthew Sandy of Dover, Sierra Sandy of Dover; two great grandsons, Carson and Cooper Farnsworth both of Dover; two sisters, Margaret Zimmerman of New Philadelphia, and Dorothy Chek of New Philadelphia.


A celebration of Erma's life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Bill Surber officiating. Interment will take place at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday from 12:30-1:30 pm.
