Ernest 'Ernie' Eash, 86, of 124 2nd St., NE, Strasburg, died Friday, July 30, 1999 in Union Hospital.
He had worked at Wallick Coal for 36 years and had also been employed by the Tuscarawas County Road & Bridge.
Born January 15, 1913 at Dundee, he was son of the late Lon and Effie Everhart Eash.
A member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church, Ernie was a member of the Strasburg Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years. He was a member of the Bolivar Sportsmans Club, enjoyed watching baseball and was a big Cleveland Indians fan.
He is survived by his wife, the former Alice Plummer, with who he wed on January 7, 1931.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Reta) Smitley of Navarre, brother Paul Eash and sister Pauline Hougue, both of Massillon, five grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by brothers Russell & Everett and a sister, Ruby.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 3, at 2:00pm in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Rev. Steven Court officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm.
