Esther Arlene Wallick

January 29, 1936 — March 6, 2019

Esther Arlene Wallick, 83, of New Philadelphia went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Aultman Hospital.

Born January 29, 1936 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Lester and Ruth Ann Maurer Baab. Arlene was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ellen Baab, Martha Hagloch; daughter in law, Penny Wallick and granddaughter, Holly Wallick.

Arlene retired from Country Hills Medical Center in California, and had also worked at several different hospitals over her 37 years where she dedicated her life as a Dietary Technician; bringing health and wellness through her passion for cooking. At an early age, she discovered the Lord, living her life by his word. She will be missed by her family members at Broadway United Methodist Church, Betty Thompson Esther Circle and the Young at Heart Lunch Group, all of which were near and dear to her heart. Her many passions in life (other than her beloved Elvis Presley) were collecting butterflies, singing to her various tanks of tropical fish and collecting massive quantities of Hummels.

Arlene is survived by her brother, Marvin (Lorraine) Baab of Florida; sister, Naomi Harper of Dover; sons, Griffen Wallick of New Philadelphia, Joe Wallick of Dover, Jammie Wallick and Gary Wallick both of San Diego, California; daughters, Brenda (Larry) Ostrander of San Diego, Darla (Kevin) Turner of Baytown, Texas; grandkids, Gail (Ryan) Shafer, Liberty (Roland) Cordar, and her favorite (JK) Julie (Arlene) Ostrander of Spring Valley, California, Kiris (John) Murray of New Philadelphia, Bruce and Reece Turner of Texas; great grandbabies, Shane, Bjorn, Killian, Brent, Solie, Ander, Brayden and Emily; and her many nephews and nieces, all of whom she loved and touched deeply.

Come and celebrate Arlene’s life with us on Thursday, March 14 at 11:00 am in the Broadway United Methodist Church at 120 Church Ave. SE, New Philadelphia, where Mick Foster will lead a service celebrating Arlene’s life. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Everyone is invited back to the church following the committal service where Arlene’s church family will host a luncheon in Spencer Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Arlene’s name to Broadway United Methodist Church, www.broadway-umc.org.
