Esther E. Stevens, 79, of Dover, Ohio died Friday, November 8, 2002 in the New Dawn Health Center following an extended illness.
Born November 17, 1922 in Otsego, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Smith and Katherine McGraw Scott.
Esther was a member of the First Christian Church at Dover. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star #222 in New Philadelphia, White Shrine, and was a volunteer at Union Hospital, member of the Historical Society, Tuscarawas Senior Center, AARP, and United Steelworkers and was a member of several card clubs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. “Bill” Stevens who died June 1, 1996.
She is survived by two daughters Peggy (Milton) Lightfoot of LaRue, Ohio and Donna (Arthur) Farmer of Atlanta, Georgia; one son Ronald (Paula) Callentine of Columbus; Eight grandchildren Todd, Angela, Rebecca, and Jennifer Callentine; Andrew and Kathryn Farmer, Roderick and Brian Lightfoot; Seven great grandchildren Alison, Olivia, Kathleen and Lauren Lightfoot, Kennedy Callentine and Liam and Jacob Dockery, and a brother, John Joseph Scott of Walnut Creek, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Isaac Scott and a sister, Mary K. Scott.
Funeral Services will be held Monday at 11 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Donald Campbell officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm with Eastern Star services at 5:45 pm.
