Esther F. Locker

Esther F. Locker, 97, of Magnolia passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar.

Born September 30, 1916 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late William and Frieda (Luthy) Schwarm. On September 12, 1936 she married Daniel Locker, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1983. She is also preceded in death by her son; Danny Locker; two sisters, Wilma Potschner and Marie Judy; two brothers, George and William Jr. Schwarm; along with her son in-laws, Dick Kate and Allen App.

Esther retired from the US Central Tile Company in East Sparta following 26 years of service. She was the oldest living member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Zoarville. She loved attending to her rose gardens. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and looked forward to many camping trips with her family. She also enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach during the winter.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters; Cloe-Ann Kate of Dundee, Judy App of Bolivar; six grandchildren, Kim (Jerry) Edgar of Dundee, Yvonne (Rod) Zesiger of Dundee, Melissa Kate (Danielle Hickey) of Dundee, Tamra (Tom) Huggins of Bolivar, Todd (Lori) App of Dover, and Gary (Maria) App of Bolivar; 11 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren; along with her companion and special friend, Bill Stewart of New Philadelphia.

A celebration of Esther's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 1:00pm with Pastor Brian Rossow officiating. Interment will take place at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
