Esther M. Olinger, 90, of Magnolia, died Thursday, April 30, 2009.
Born January 15, 1919 at Walnut Creek, she was the daughter of the late Harry & Sarah Hostetler Balder.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg and had been active in its Busy Bee Quilters group. She has also been a member of the American Legion post Auxiliary at Strasburg.
Esther was a caring woman who had a great sense of humor. She had a variety of interests, but especially enjoyed working with her hands �" whether working in her vegetable garden, crocheting, or working on an embroidery or quilting project. She was also an avid reader.
Her husband, Paul R. Olinger, died July 22, 1988.
Surviving family members include: a step-daughter, Margaret Brock of East Canton; two daughters, Debbie Larson of Magnolia and Marcia Wright of New Philadelphia; two step-granddaughters, Wendy Birchfield of Cincinnati and Pam Billie of East Canton; and a step-grandson, David Clawson of Canton.
Along with her parents and husband, two sisters, a brother, and two sons-in-law preceded Esther in death.
Pastor Steven Woyen will officiate a service that celebrates Esther's life on Tuesday, May 5, at 10:30 a.m. in the First Lutheran Church, Strasburg. Burial will follow in the Grandview Union Cemetery. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover on Monday from 5-8 p.m.

The family suggests that memorial gifts be made, in Esther's name, to the First Lutheran Church, 211 8th St. SW, Strasburg.
