Ethel Erdine Wallick

Ethel Erdine Wallick, 102, of Columbia, died Friday, June 27, 2003 in the Park Village Health Care Center where she had resided for eight years.

Born February 6, 1901 at Sugarcreek, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Brady Schwartz.

She worked as secretary, assisting her late husband Bryan Wallick who dies May 20, 1974, in the operation of his insurance company.

Erdine was a member of the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg where she had long served as church pianist. She used her love of music and talent to give piano lessons for many years. She was a member of the Strasburg Order of Eastern Star and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Chas. Hofer post of the American Legion at Strasburg.

Survivors include: a son; Richard (Madeline) Wallick of Dover, daughter; Betty Lou Huffman of Strasburg, sister; Queenie (Hon) Luckring of Brewster, eight grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Erdine was preceded in death by: a son; Tom Wallick, son-in-law; Harvey Huffman, and three sisters.

Funeral service will be held Monday, June 30, at 11:00 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Strasburg with Rev Fred Grosse officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8p.m.
