Eugene E. Fisher

Eugene E. Fisher, 88, of Winfield, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2006 in the Park Village Health Care Center.

Gene was a long-time farmer in the Winfield area. He was a father, friend and teacher to all who had the opportunity to work with him on his farm. He and Hazel taught their family how to find joy and satisfaction in work. One of his favorite pastimes was playing cards with family and friends.

He was a member of the Winfield United Methodist Church, Farm Bureau, National Rifle Association, Dover VFW, Eagles and Moose. In earlier years, he and Hazel enjoyed many Saturday evenings dancing.

Gene is survived by his wife, Hazel L. Stingel Fisher, with whom he would have celebrated 66 years of marriage on August 28, 2006.

He is also survived by three daughters, Shirley (Roger) Miller of Massillon, Linda Armbruster of Grapevine, Texas, Carol (Roger) Reardon of Dover; son, Richard (Beverly) Fisher of Dover; six grandchildren, Marissa Miller, Stacy Carnahan, Erica Reardon, Jarrett Reardon, Matthew Fisher and Jennifer Fisher; one step-grandson, Troy (Jennifer) Miller of Westerville.

Gene is also survived by a sister, Fern Fisher Raff of Pennsylvania, and was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Fisher.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2006 at 1:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Lu Ann Youngman and Rev. Dan Legg officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 pm.
