J. Eugene "Ike" Reynolds, 82, of Dover died Saturday evening, March 23, 2013 in Acute Care Specialty Hospital at Canton following a brief illness. He had also previously resided in Mineral Wells, Texas for many years.
Ike was a retired truck driver for Cantex and had also previously owned and operated Boulevard Lanes during the 1970's.
Born February 14, 1931 in Dover, he was the son of the late Ben and Mabel (Acton) Reynolds.
He was a 1949 graduate of New Philadelphia High School where he was an outstanding athlete. Over the years, he enjoyed golfing and was an avid bowler. While in Texas, he also loved fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his good friends, Dave Immel and Jim "Kaz" Kaser.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Cleo (Bannon) Reynolds and a brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Martha Reynolds, also a brother Buster Reynolds. One great grand child also preceded Ike in death.
He will be sadly missed by his family including three children, Debbie Sherlock and Ben (Connie) Reynolds both of Dover and Wendy (Ron) Carpenter of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Melissa (Luke) Pace, Chris Elliott, Ben (Jennifer) Reynolds, Adam Reynolds, Aaron Sherlock and Charlie Lewis along with fifteen great grandchildren.
