Eugene J. Pasquin, 88, of Dover died Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Union Hospital.
He had retired in 1982 from the Timken Co. in New Philadelphia after 33 years of service.
Born February 28, 1921 in Somerdale, he was a son of the late Eugene and Mary Zantene Pasquin. His stepfather, John Stauffer; half brother, Charles Stauffer and a grandson Eugene Penso also preceded him in death.
Eugene was a former member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Zoarville. He was a Marine veteran of WW II, where he was the recipient of two purple hearts, and was also a member of the New Philadelphia, VFW and the Dover DAV. Eugene always enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family, especially his little sweetie, Eleesa Eames.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 55 years, Henrietta Collins Pasquin who he married on July 1, 1954. He is also survived by a daughter, Margaret Mitchell of New Philadelphia, son, David (wife, Lori) Schwartz of Dover, half brothers, John Stauffer of Virginia and Bob Stauffer of Leesville; half sisters, Camilia Ashworth of Tennessee, Rose Marie Stauffer of Columbus and Mary Jane Diest of Waynesburg; granddaughter, Lisa Humston.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Matthew Roe officiating. Cremation will follow the service with interment of the ashes in the Greenlawn Cemetery at Sandyville. Friends can call in the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8 pm.
