Eugene L. Weimer, 81, of Stone Creek died Monday, September 9, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born September 29, 1931 in Accident, Maryland he was a son of the late Earl and Emma Callis Weimer. Eugene was also preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Eugene is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Helen Wilburn Weimer whom he married on December 2, 1951; children, Retha (Jerry) Crips of Smyrna, Tennessee and Glenn (Linda) Weimer of Morrow, Georgia; sister, Ruth Hetz of Grantsville, Maryland; four grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Eugene was a Korean War veteran who served from 1952 to 1954 with the US Army Medical Corp. Following his discharge he and Helen moved to Ohio to raise their family. He was an active member of Grace Community Church in Stone Creek, was the founder of Boy Scout Troup 486 at Stone Creek and was Scout Master for many years. Eugene was also an avid woodworker, who often made different items to give to family and friends. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 13 at 1:00 pm in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens with Pastor Paul Houdashelt officiating. Following the service a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. There are no calling hours. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover is handling arrangements.
