Eva Jean "Jeanie" Truman

Eva Jean "Jeanie" Truman, 87, of Dover, passed away on September 28, 2014 at Union Hospital.

Born on December 14, 1926 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Gladys (Peterman) Lenarz. She graduated from Dover High School with the class of 1944. On October 31, 1944, she married Chester Truman, who preceded her in death on January 18, 2000. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie (Russell) Smith and Betty (Joe) Sutek; and her brother in law, Dean Brick.

Jeanie enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She also loved crossword puzzles and doing the daily jumble in the newspaper.

Eva will be missed by her five children; Rebecca Jean (Rick) Carothers of Tuscarawas, Kay (Wilford "Buck") Hoover of Dover, Chester E. (Polli) Truman of Louisville, Holly (Garry) Holmes of New Philadelphia, Douglas (Darla) Truman of Dover; eight grandchildren, Kristi (Steve) Salapack of Massillon, DJ (companion, Stacy) Avon of Tuscarawas, Rod Hoover of Dover, Ryan (Emily) Holmes of New Philadelphia, Derek (companion, Marissa) Truman of Fredericksburg, Cory Truman of Dover, Nate Galmish of New Jersey, and Melanie Galmish of Akron; eight great grandchildren, Kyle, Kourtney, Kara, Jimmy, Christina, Seth, Kobey, and Myla; and three great-great grandchildren, Ellie, Daniel, and Addilynn; along with a sister in-law, Wilma Brick of Dover.

A celebration of Jeanie's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 2:30 pm with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Interment will take place at Dover Burial Park. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:30-2:30 pm.
