On Saturday January 22, 2011, at the age of 87, Eva Lurlene France went home to be with the lord and was reunited with her late husband John E. and their son, Ronnie L France. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Eva Lurlene France was born on January 3, 1924 in Lawrence County, Tennessee to the late John Henry and Ona Williams Walker. Eva and John E. were married on October 21, 1946 and had five children, including the late Ronnie France. She is also preceded in death by her four brothers; Francis, Leo, Herman and Ferris Walker; and two sisters, Lois King, and Mary Mayfield; two grandchildren, Pamela Renee Conner and Tamara Conner.
Eva enjoyed fellowship at local churches and giving to her family and friends. She took great pride in helping others. Her true passion was painting. Her pictures won ribbons at the county fair for many years. Today, they are proudly displayed in many homes and medical facilities. Her paintings will be a constant reminder of her talent and love for painting.
Survivors include two sons; James (Mary Ann) Conner of Newcomerstown, John (Wilma) France of New Philadelphia; two daughters, Bonnie Jenkins of Dover, and Connie Fisher of New Philadelphia; one brother, Harlan (Pat) Walker of Kentucky; three sisters, Shirley (Ron) Becker, Wilma (Junior) Pruitt of Tennessee, and Margaret Moore of Toledo, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, along with the staff and friends at Amberwood Manor.
A celebration of Eva�(TM)s life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 11:00 am with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Burial will follow at East Avenue Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 5-7 pm. Those unable to attend, or who would like to sign and online guestbook, may do so by visiting the “obituaries link” on the funeral homes website.
In Lieu of flowers, family requests that contributions be made to the activities department at Amberwood Manor, 245 S. Broadway, New Philadelphia, and Ohio 44622.
