In the early morning hours of June 11, 2004, Eva Marie Clum went peacefully to be with her husband and children. Marie, “Grandma Tucky,” was 82 years old and a long-time resident of Tuscarawas.
Born July 16, 1921, in Freeport, Marie was a daughter of the late O.H. and Mary A. Braniger Fisher. She graduated Port Washington High School, and, on January 2, 1941, married Arthur E. Clum. Marie was a homemaker and was employed by the Tuscarawas post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for many years as a bartender (and a darn good one). She liked to fish, play cards and sit on her front porch in Tusky. She dearly loved her family and especially enjoyed cooking Sunday dinner for them.
Survivors include eleven grandchildren, Ronni (Tom) Roth of Gnadenhutten, Darren (Cheryl) Clum of Columbus, Debbi (Jim) Tucker of Strasburg, Kris (Jon) Kinsey of New Philadelphia, Darla (Rich) Reding of Strasburg, Dan Polilli of New Philadelphia, Terri Brown of Roswell, Jennifer (Marcel) van de Vusse of Strasburg, Connie (Hyle) Volzer of Midvale, Jamie (Dan) Ott of Dennison, and Deanna McKean of Scio; twenty-three great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Trude Powers of Tuscarawas; long-time friend, her dog Mitzy; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Art in 1985; two daughters, Sandra Brown and Nancy Polilli; and a son, Merle Clum.
