Evelyn R. Mcmurray

Evelyn R. McMurray, 89, of Dover died Friday, January 23, 2009 at Union Hospital following a brief illness.

Born January 9, 1920 in Fresno, Ohio she was a daughter of the late George and Belle Allison Barcus. Her husband, Harold McMurray who died on May 15, 1984, brother, Jason Barcus; five sisters, Nellie Kimble, Georgia Miller, Ada Haga, Maggie Stephan and Doris Diehl; granddaughters, Ruth Dickey and Carissa McMurray and son in law, Bud Dickey also preceded Evelyn in death.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dover and was also a former member of Hinges and Twinges at the YMCA. Evelyn enjoyed helping raise her grandchildren and attending all of their extracurricular activities as her health allowed.

Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Virginia Dickey and Deb (Kevin) Barrett with whom she resided; son Daniel (Julia) McMurray all of Dover; grandchildren, Christopher Whyde, Robin Geers, Diane and Lyle Dickey and Rhonda and Dave Redmon; great grandchildren, TJ Geers, Nathan Geers, Zachary Redmon, Kyler, Kaden and Keara Dickey.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Gene and Sara Chadwell officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Following the burial a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call at the funeral home one-hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
