Evelyn Ruth Trachsel, 93, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, in Park Village, Dover, where she was recuperating from a recent fall.
Evelyn was born in Pontiac, Illinois on December 16, 1916, to the late Jacob and Mary Nordmeyer Miller. Evelyn was a long-time employee of the U.S. Ceramic Tile Co. in East Sparta.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia, its Senior Citizens Group, and the Strasburg Chapter of the A.A.R.P. She enjoyed the fellowship she experienced at church and in these groups, and was especially fond of going to lunch with her daughters and friends.
Evelyn is survived by four daughters, June C. (Eugene) Huprich and Sally (Charles) Bullock, both of Dover, Mary Jane (Arthur) Viola of Tuscarawas, and Dorothy Furbay of New Philadelphia; a son, Atty. Kenneth Trachsel of Waterville; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Martha Miller of Navarre; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Vera Tornabene of New Philadelphia.
