Evelyn Zora Gatts

Evelyn Zora Gatts, 67, of Dover, and a former resident of New Philadelphia and Uhrichsville, died Wednesday, November 20, 2002, in the Morning View Care Center at New Philadelphia.

She had worked as a nurse�(TM)s aide for nursing homes in Uhrichsville and Newport.

Born March 1, 1935 at Coshocton, she was daughter of the late George William “Burt” & Lucille Maple Lafferty.

Evelyn had been a member of the Church of the Nazarene at Uhrichsville. She was an active member of the auxiliaries of the Uhrichsville Moose, VFW, Army-Navy & Elks clubs. She enjoyed drawing and reading her Bible. Known for her feisty personality, she was even known as “Spitfire” on her CB handle.

She is survived by her husband, George Earl Gatts, Sr., whom she wed on July 14, 1949.

Due to renovations at Toland-Herzig�(TM)s New Philadelphia location, services will be held Friday, November 22, at 1:00pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Pastor Chris Lape officiating. Interment will be in the Plainfield Cemetery, Litton Township. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm.
