F. Gail Walters, 86, of Dover, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 1, 2001 at Union Hospital.
Gail retired in 1982, as owner/operator of Walters Auto Repair in Dover.
Born October 23, 1915 in Dover, he was the son of the late Frank and Marie Sehn Walters.
He was a member of the St. Joseph�(TM)s Catholic Church at Dover where he served on parish council for many years. He was also a former Dover City Councilman for ten years. Gail was instrumental in the formation of the Dover Youth Baseball Leagues. He played semi professional baseball and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He also enjoyed hunting and gardening.
He is survived by his wife Olga Alexander Walters with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 4. He is also survived by three sons; Mike Walters of Dover, Tim (Ellie) Walters of Cincinnati, and Jeff Walters of Dover. Three daughters; Debbie (Tom) Beasley and Cindy (William) Dobosh both of Hubbard, Ohio and Lisa (Ron) Smith of Dover.
Twelve grandchildren Christian Walters, Amiee Walters Proctor and husband Bryan, Sarah and Rachel Beasley, Megan and Adam Walters, Tara and Clark Smith, William Dobosh, Alexander (Tricia) Dobosh, Andrew and Brian Dobosh and a great granddaughter, Sydney Beasley. He is also survived by one brother, Vincent “Tuky” (Catherine) Walters of Dover and two sisters, Bertha (Earl) Lafferty of Dover and Vera Shoemaker of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Joe and Patrick Walters, a daughter, Rebecca Ann Walters and a brother, Jack Walters.
A Rite of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph�(TM)s Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Sunday from 2-5 pm with Christian Wake Services at 4:30 pm.
