Florence E. “Grandma Flo” Weber, 90, of Strasburg, died Monday, March 24, 2003 in Aultman Hospital at Canton.
She had worked at United States Ceramic Tile Company, formerly known as U.S. Quarry and Tile at East Sparta.
Born July 20, 1912 at Franklin Township, she was a daughter of the late Edward E. and Mary Jane Foster Peters.
Florence was a 1930 graduate of Strasburg High School and was a member of the First Moravian Church in Dover.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Keene Weber, who died September 5, 1979.
Survivors include: a son; James (Ramona) Weber, Sr. of New Philadelphia, two daughters; Betty K. Thomas of Strasburg and Linda (Woody) Beitzel of Stone Creek, thirteen grandchildren; Gay Miller of Columbus, Kay Patton of Strasburg, Judy (Tom) Spidell of Dover, Vicky (Terry) Straub of Strasburg, James (Denise) Weber Jr. of Canton, Cheryl (Tim) Reiss of Dover, Debra (Glen) Swaldo of New Philadelphia, Cynthia (Joe) Avery of Lecanto, FL, Bev (Dave) Brookshire of Canton, Rick (Cindy) Beitzel of Stone Creek, Scott (Emily) Beitzel of Stone Creek, Mark (Becky) Beitzel of Stone Creek and Rob (Annette) Beitzel of New Philadelphia, four step-grandchildren; John (Cindy) Schroeder, Jr. of Dover, Tom (Christine) Schroeder of Maryville, TN, Jeff (Gina) Schroeder of Largo, FL and Bradley Schroeder of Dover, 26 great grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Florence was preceded in death by: a great grandchild; Kelly Renee Beitzel, two brothers; John and Foster Peters and a sister; Jennie Gasser.
A private, family graveside service will be held Friday, March 28, in the Grandview Union Cemetery with Rev. Allen Bergmann officiating. There are no public services or visiting hours.
