Florence L. Border

Florence L. Border, 96, of Massillon, Ohio and formerly of Beach City, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008 in the Hospitality House in Massillon.

Born September 26, 1912 in Canton, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Sarah Schumacher Albert.

She married her husband, Edward N. Border, on June 14, 1930. Together they raised five children. Edward preceded her in death on May 24, 1997.

Florence was a busy homemaker who enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, and gardening. She cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her five children; Dean Border of Navarre, Ohio, Joyce (husband, Veryle) Draime of Canton, Ohio, Marilyn (husband, Wayne) Lawson of Massillon, Ohio, William (wife, Charmagne) Border of Strasburg, and Jane (husband, George) Kermanides of Mentor, Ohio; her sister, Catherine McCloskey of Canton, Ohio as well as 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sister; Dorothy Krebs.

A celebration of Florence's life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Gary Smith from the Zion United Church of Christ in North Canton officiating. Burial will follow at the Southlawn Cemetery in Beach City. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday (Today) November 6, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
