Foster W. Peters

Foster W. Peters, 86, a lifelong resident of Strasburg, Ohio died Wednesday, August 21, 2002 in Union Hospital at Dover following an extended illness.

He was a retired dairy farmer.

Born November 30, 1915 in Strasburg, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary Foster Peters.

Foster was a member of the Winfield United Methodist Church. He formerly served on the Strasburg-Franklin School Board for 12 years and was a Franklin Twp. Trustee for 12 years. He was a member of the Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau and the AARP. He was a 1933 graduate of Strasburg High School.

He is survived by his wife Irene Laubscher Peters with whom he celebrated 67 years of marriage on August 3.

He is also survived by three children Dr. Fred (Judy) Peters of Louisville, Ohio; John Peters of Strasburg; and Connie (John) Ecenbarger of Strasburg; a sister, Florence Weber of Strasburg; a former daughter in law Patricia Dunn; Seven grandchildren, Susan Lange, Dr. Steve Peters, Laurel Fenn, Michael Peters, Shelly Dosch, Michelle Ecenbarger, and John Foster Ecenbarger; Seven great grandchildren, Caitlin Lange, Lauren Lange, Drew Lange, Logan Peters, and Travis Ecenbarger, Katelyn and Emma Dosch.

He was preceded in death by one brother, John Peters, and one sister, Jennie Gasser.

Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Strasburg with Rev. LuAnn Youngman officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday (today) from 6-8 pm.
