Frances M. Petrella

Frances M. Petrella, age 92, of Dover, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016, in Community Hospice's Truman House at New Philadelphia.

Born February 22, 1924, at New Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Julia Vitt Enama. Frances attended New Philadelphia High School, and, as a young lady worked for the W.T. Grant Company at New Philadelphia. She married Daniel H. "Fatso" Petrella on July 11, 1953. The couple reared two children and shared 62 years of marriage prior to Fatso's passing on July 21, 2015.

Frances was a long-time member of St. Joseph Church at Dover, and was a loving homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Julia McMurray of Dover; her son, Daniel (Sandy) Petrella of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Laura (James Kurtz) Petrella and Rev. Jay (Erin) Petrella; her great-grandchildren, Quaden, Caius and Kallum Kurtz, and Aiden Petrella; her sisters, Barbara Tinirello, Dorothy Mattevi and Arline Reichman; and her nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, and her beloved husband, Fatso, Frances was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Mattevi; and her son-in-law, Dan McMurray.

A funeral service will be held Monday, December 5, at 1:30 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover, with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery, Dover. Following the committal, there will be a light meal served in the Famous Ending Caf at Toland-Herzig. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday, 12:30 1:30 p.m.
