Frank DeMonte, 76, of Dover, died peacefully Sunday, March 6, 2005, in Union Hospital while surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 13, 1928 at Mineral City, he was the son of the late Genaro & Concetta Lauria DeMonte.
In 1993, Frank retired from the Gradall Company where, for 29 years, he held a variety of skilled positions ranging from welding and assembly to machinist.
Frank was a longtime member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover and had served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a big supporter of Central Catholic High School and was a member of the Saints booster club. He enjoyed golfing, was an avid gardener, and was also a great cook.
As a member of the Army, Frank was stationed in Germany during the Korean War
He was a man of varied interests, but at the center of Frank�(TM)s world was his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Grace DeBois DeMonte, with whom he celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary in August.
He was also the proud father of seven children: Michael (Kay) DeMonte of Dover, Joseph (Nina) DeMonte of Dennison, Frank (Ann) DeMonte of Corvallis, Oregon, David (Debbie) DeMonte of Dover, Anna (Tom) Gorensek of Euclid, Teresa (Steve) Penrod of New Phila., and Elizabeth DeMonte of Euclid.
Other survivors include: 16 grandchildren, Mike, Ben, & Jessica Penrod, Angela, Paul, Genaro & Maria DeMonte, Roland, James, Adam & Miranda DeMonte, Francis DeMonte, Devynn, Diana & Dylan DeMonte and Marygrace Gorensek; two brothers, Gene (Linda) Argento of Mineral City, and Joe (Twila) Argento of Dover; two sisters, Rose (Frank) Pellegrino of Solon, and Mary (John) Melich of Aurora; a brother-in-law, Ken Dorsey; and many dear nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by: a brother, Sam Argento; and two sisters, Helen Dorsey and Anna Michna.
A funeral mass celebrating Frank�(TM)s life will be conducted Thursday, March 10 at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be held at 7:45 p.m.
