Frank L. Pace, 89, of Dover, died Friday, April 28, 2006 in Union Hospital.
Born May 10, 1916 at Dover, Frank was the son of the late Luigi &
Vitantonia Frederico Pace.
He retired from the former Reeves Steel after 38 years as a die setter
mechanic.
Frank was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover where he had
served as usher for many years.
He was a life member of the Dover Moose, where he had achieved the Pilgrim
Degree of Merit. He was also a life member of the Dover Eagle, DAV, VFW,
Knights of Columbus, and Army-Navy. Frank was previously involved with
Amvets as well.
A proud veteran, Frank honorably served his country in the Army during
World War II. He served in the South Pacific with the 29th Air Service
Group, 13th Air Force. He stayed close with the Air Service Group over
the years and helped other do the same by serving the editor of the
group�(TM)s newsletter for more than 50 years. He also served as
secretary/treasurer for the 29th.
His wife, Theresa A. Tuzzio Pace, who died February 17, 2005, preceded him
in death.
Survivors include: two sons, Dr. Frank (LaDeana) Pace of Bowling Green,
and Charles V. (Rebecca) Pace of Strasburg; six grandchildren, Aaron Pace,
Timothy Pace, Jamie Pace, Nicholas Pace, Johnny (Bethany) Zimmerman, and
Jessica Zimmerman; six great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Margaret
Pace, Peg Pace and Estella Tuzzio; and a brother-in-law, Frank (Marilyn)
Tuzzio.
In addition to his wife and parents, Frank was preceded in death by: five
brothers, Charles, Dom, Benjamin, Thomas & Joseph Pace; and a sister,
Carmella Miskiewicz.
Fr. William Arnold will officiate a funeral mass that celebrates Frank�(TM)s
life on Tuesday, May 2, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church,
Dover. Burial will follow in Dover Calvary Cemetery where Frank�(TM)s
comrades from the Dover VFW will conduct military honors.
Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover on
Monday from 5-8 p.m.
