Frank R. Vickers, age 68, of New Philadelphia, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, in Union Hospital, Dover.
Born October 12, 1947, he was a son of Ruth Gregory Vickers of New Philadelphia, and the late Charles Vickers. Frank attended New Philadelphia High School, and married the former Stella Welsch, who survives, on October 25, 1965. He retired from Mechanical Mold & Machine Co., Akron.
Frank was a loving family man, who enjoyed working with wood, tinkering with automobiles, and going to the races at Midvale.
In addition to his mother, and his wife, Stella, he is survived by his two sons, Donald (Marci) and Duane Vickers, both of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Chaz and Marissa Vickers; his brothers, Kenny (Mary) Vickers of Uhrichsville, Robert (companion, Pat Lorenz) Vickers of Dover, and Terry (Janice) Vickers of Huntsville, Texas; and his several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, Frank was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Melinda Vickers.
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 8, at 1:30 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 246 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia. Burial will be in New Philadelphia's Evergreen Burial Park. Following the committal, there will be a luncheon in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard, Dover.
