Frank W. Rose, 86, of Strasburg died Monday, November 20, 2000, in Union Hospital.
In 1976, after 37 years of work, he retired as a stationary engineer. Frank had also worked as a steam power thrasher and had been employed by Dover Appliance, Cappledale Dairy, Nickles Bakery and was a partner in the Harvey Drilling company.
Born January 16, 1914 at Uniontown at Belmont County, he was son of the late Fred & Carrie Sharp Rose.
He was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg. He was a life member of the NRA, member of the Tuscarawas Valley Pioneer Power Association and Stumptown Steam & Thrashers Club. He enjoyed traveling and following his retirement enjoyed woodworking.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, the former Viola M. Harvey, who passed away December 20, 1985.
He is survived by one cousin and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, John, Paul & George.
Funeral service will be held Friday, November 24, at 11:00am in the St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg with Rev. Gerald Schuessler officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Strasburg on Wednesday from 6-8pm.
