Freda Marie Margo, age 93, of Dover, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, in Park Village Health Care Center.
Born November 17, 1920, in New Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late C.D. and Lera (Baker) Hinson. Freda graduated from New Philadelphia High School and went on to attend cosmetology school in Canton, obtaining her beautician's license. In addition to working as a beautician much of her life, she was employed by Dr. O.K. Brown as a receptionist and by the Dover Public Library.
Freda married Albert J. Margo on June 14, 1975, and the couple shared nearly thirty-six years of marriage prior to Albert's passing on March 2, 2010.
Freda was a member of the Church of Christ, New Philadelphia, and the First Christian Church, Dover. She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening especially growing flowers, and kept fit by swimming and walking. Freda and Albert spent the winters in Florida for many years.
Survivors include her two sons, David (wife, Cheryl) Vincent of Mansfield, and James (wife, Dalene Forgan) Vincent of Canton; her step-children, George (wife, Beth) Margo of Strasburg, Daniel (partner, Randy Bishop) Margo of Philadelphia, Albert H. Margo of Dover, Linda Sue (husband, Tom) McKenzie of Magnolia, and Ronald (wife, Patty) Margo of Strasburg; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert (wife, Melinda) Hinson of Columbus; her sister-in-law, Lynne (husband, George) Telle of Dover; her brother-in-law, Delmar Espenschied also of Dover; and her numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, and her husband Albert, Freda was preceded in death by her sister, Nina Espenschied; and by her four brothers, Donald (wife, Melva), Bruce (wife, Vala), Jerry and Howard (wife, Helen) Hinson.
Honoring Freda's wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held Saturday, October 25, at 1:30 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover; Chris Mulpas of Dover's First Christian Church will officiate. Her cremated remains will be buried, with Albert, in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Strasburg.
